The Motion Remix

Everybody holds their glasses
Ready to toast when no one’s looking
No questions don’t want no answers
they eat whatever’s cooking

when everything’s golden
she doesn’t question the moment
take away her rosy vision
and she can’t understand why it’s rotten

they surround me on my throne
clap at all my poems
feed my mind empty words
just as long as they can live in my world
but like castles in the sky
one day everything dies
and laughter turns to mumbling sighs
some of them can’t help but cry
but I’m still here
they whisper resolutions in my ear
and they’re off chasing a new year

Costume of skin

dancing in odd configurations
I see the virgin mary
I hope she heard my confession
gyrations on a dance floor
only at night
in the morning it’s the street corner
never holding myself back
always on full out attack
they prowl around my mind
asking me when is it time
