My First Book

Hello Everyone,

I recently challenged myself to come up with a book of raps in under an hour and here it is: One Hour Rap.  It was just an artistic move I decided to make.  To see what a book of poetry in an hour would look like.  It’s not smooth at times and a better flow could have been used in places but I didn’t want to edit it too much.  I wanted it to be raw.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy it and please download and share it with everyone you know.

Thank you.

One Hour Rap

Costume of skin

dancing in odd configurations
I see the virgin mary
I hope she heard my confession
gyrations on a dance floor
only at night
in the morning it’s the street corner
never holding myself back
always on full out attack
they prowl around my mind
asking me when is it time

#NaPoWriMo Day 30: The Last

the last that you ever seen
even when I’m on your team
and you can’t get enough of
this new thing
I am music
this is new shit
and i am not stupid
trying to teach all the youngsters
how to do this
they ask me
how do I become classy
and not so nasty
I told them to keep writing
and whatever they hear is just fine
no need to waste time deciding on
a fancy rhyme
all you need is a verse that detonates
the line and whips apart peoples minds
can this be real the way it is
or do we just not know the truth about
the way out

#NaPoWriMo Day 21: Off the top of my head

off the top of my head
just getting out of bed
my words are bullets
I shoot until your dead
fill bullet holes
with mad rhymes
and your ears know
that what they heard was priceless
and what they feel is worth it
traveling on trains
to places inside of your brain
when people on the other side
are searching for a way back
you don’t listen to their replies
just keep pushing in all out attack
ignoring signs of your demise
but truth be told I used to believe those lies
I just hope I’m not one you despise
because I told you what you would find

#NaPoWriMo Day 20: Girls Love Beyonce

girls love Beyonce
they love turning a house
into a party
act in front of their friends
like they don’t care
where or with who it ends
up bein’, as long as they get
it in
and their cups full of vodka
make them forget
what the night was made of
girls love to masquerade
around the town
but you look just
like a clown
wearing a mask
but forgot the gown
and when I get you all alone
you know what’s goin’ down
you’ll be goin’ down

Happy Endings

you can’t just leave a poem with no ending even though you feel no ending in reality and in your life you don’t come to endings or conclusions you still must have a poem with an ending
your story must ring true and your whole being must be in it and your characters must be real
there can be no easy way out or lack of trouble or no romance
you need a purpose and something to fight for
and an ending
everything that real life-

Reflections

I am drunk right now
and I was sitting at the beach
and the sand was soft and the sky had streaks of cloud
the sun was setting and the moon looked at me with half its face
I was drunk

I walked to the edge of the water and looked at the ripples
I wanted to take off my clothes and dip my body into the water
my entire body underneath the water
and hold my breath for just a minute
then I would emerge brand new
my sins would be washed away, dripping off of my body
