Updated: My First E-Book

Update:

Part 2 of my poetry book has now been published on Amazon.  I really do appreciate you coming to read my blog.  This is my first step to being able to make a living by doing the things I want to do, one of which is writing.  I am deeply thankful for any support you give.  Each book is only $0.99.  If you like it then share it with friends and family.  If you have criticisms I am happy to hear them.  Either way leave a comment or send me a message.

Original Post:

I have now published my first book on Amazon available for the Kindle.  It’s called A Book of Songs and is part 1 in a 2 part series of poetry.

You can see it here.

I am very excited to be able to self publish my first book of poetry.  I was intimidated by the whole process of going through a publisher and agents but then I discovered the story of Amanda Hocking and discovered that I could just put my work out there on my own.  Even if you don’t have a kindle you can still read it using the free Kindle app.

I would love to hear any comments you have.  I appreciate any support you give.

Coytoe

scarred moons follow me home

watchful eyes move with me as I walk

when everything is quiet I can finally hear the noise

a million miles away someone else is looking at me

prayers for the passing of another season

the man on the TV said he’s ready to give us a reason

living can become such a routine

boxed inside a box

shipped from city to scene

burning to do what needs to be done

decisions hidden behind fear of the outcome

howling at the moon seems the only way to cope

maybe someone will hear and throw me a rope

Improvised Fix

I recently created a new type of poem.  Inspired by Haiku’s, I came up with a type of poem revolving not around syllables per line, but around a certain number of words per line, with each line representing a different part of the idea that the poem is getting across.  I don’t know if this is actually a new creation but I have never seen it done before.  I have no name for this type of poem.

This is the first one of many that I have created:

Receipt, Broken, Ripped

let’s go to heaven now

glue, paperclip

DCD: DRUNK CHASING DREAMS

traveling on quasars

light beams from mars controlling me to the beat of drums

speakers ignite my soul and the bass has my heart beating with a thump

neurological alchemy

fancy word for drug theory

melting into God’s hands I’m giving into slavery

nodding my head back and forth I’m in my friends ride

rolling down the avenue looking at anything that catches my eye

full of thirst for anything that will satisfy

I’m hungry

I wanna eat all the cakes and pies

can’t control my hunger I want it all

so you can come with me

and you

and you

and you

and no I will not call

tomorrow does not exist

I just have right now

and this night is just getting started

I need to go from not enough to too much

fantasies come to life until I don’t want anymore

until I’m empty I can’t give anymore

I gave it my all and all of me is on the floor

when I go to sleep it’s forever

not worried about tomorrow, I’m doing right now

no dreams because I owned today
